The founders
The same names, from first call to bump-out
Ade Barnard, Co-Founder & Director — 30+ years in production and sound engineering across festivals, broadcast, international sport and major artist tours, including ten years on the BBC's Later… with Jools Holland.
Matt Dufty, Co-Founder & Director — 30+ years in professional audio and systems, from touring engineer to system designer. Leads system design, acoustic modelling, RF coordination and network architecture, and directs the continued investment in our inventory.
Both still run shows. The work is quoted, designed and delivered by the people who own the company.
Working with us
Three ways to engage
Audio, comms and networks — Monitor City direct, as a specialist supplier alongside your existing partners. Best where the rest of the supply chain is set and audio needs to be right.
Full technical delivery — With our sister brand EngineRoom taking technical ownership from brief to bump-out: one plan, one cost breakdown, one point of accountability.
Consulting and pitch support — Feasibility, CAD, technical budgets and coverage modelling at bid stage, so the number you put in front of your client survives delivery.
Supplier readiness
Ready for your procurement team
Insurances — Public liability, products liability and workers compensation, with certificates of currency on request.
WHS and SWMS — A documented WHS system with job-specific SWMS, risk assessments and site inductions, used across government and venue work.
Compliance — Rigging and electrical certification, test-and-tag records, and permit experience with councils and state government.
Onboarding — Set up as a preferred supplier on request, with a documentation pack, referees and rate card for panel review.
Monitor City Group
One company, two specialist brands
Monitor City supplies audio, wireless comms and event networks. EngineRoom delivers technical production, direction and management. Engage either on its own, or both as one technical team under a single contract.
